The Lesson of a Shipwreck.
I saw the transatlantic "Titanic" right after his launching. But alas, at the fifth day of its inaugural voyage, April 15, 1912, before the sunrise, the "giant of the seas" ran straight in the frozen depths of the ocean.
In fact, to have entrusted until the last moment in maximum safety of this "masterpiece" of the naval technique, 1600 people were the victims of this shipwreck.
Inhabited of a blind confidence, much of them categorically refused to leave the resplendent bridge of light of Titanic to venture on the dark ocean in a fragile lifeboat... But to receive the certainty of its safety in this dramatic moment only one thing was needed: to trust God, Sovereign Master of the destiny of each one, He who, in his infinite kindness, offer the free gift of the eternal life in Jesus Christ.
11000 dollars of jewels left by Mrs. Bishop on her berth, 200000 dollars of obligations hidden in the metal box of major Peuchen, were useless to their owners when the elegant and slender hull of the ship was drawn up ready to capsize in the fatal night.
The only richness which has taken place in this decisive hour was offered to a man fighting against death in frozen water. His companion in misfortune, dominating the cries of anguish which came on all sides, he shouted: "is Your heart saved?” Not! The other answered. "Then, believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved!” It is what the unknown shouted to him before disappearing definitively in a swirl. The disaster victim, recovered later on board a lifeboat of the "Carpathia", could say with a joy interfered of tremor, that he had accepted the priceless gift of salvation of his heart at the eleventh hour.
Titanic had 2207 passengers on his board but the lifeboats could help only 1178 people.

The Narrow Gate
(Matthew 7:13-14)
13 Go in through the narrow gate. The gate to destruction is wide, and the road that leads there is easy to follow. A lot of people go through that gate. 14 But the gate to life is very narrow. The road that leads there is so hard to follow that only a few people find it.

As for us, we all are on the way of the pilgrims for eternity but we all can take seat on board "lifeboat" of Jesus, the Son of God, and the Savior. Among the 143 passengers of first class, there were only 4 victims, whereas in second class 53 children perished out of the 76 embarked. But in front of God such a distinction of class does not exist; indeed, God does not make distinction of anybody, He offers eternal life to all those which receive it by faith
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
The fireworks which illuminated the night up to ten miles of the ship in distress should have drawn the attention of the other ships towards the unhappy shipwrecked men of Titanic; on the contrary, on the "California" blocked by the ices with the drift, all slept peacefully and the frequent rockets of distress did nothing but disorientate the officer of the watch.
But you, would God refuse to answer your cry of anguish? Not! HE is always the one who answered and who still helps those who in the distress turn to Him, and this in spite of the madness of the men, and their contempt of the warnings of the Almighty. Reader, do you pay attention to its warnings?
In fact, the commander Smith had received during the day, five messages of other ships which had been diverted and all announced this danger zone with icebergs; the last telegram indicated with a great exactitude the presence of one iceberg to the drift, towards which the commander Smith had directed his ship to more than 22 nodes. If he had known that 1600 hearts on its board have only five hours to live, he would undoubtedly have paid more attention to the received warnings. Reader, if you knew that you have one short moment to live, could you come and receive the salvation by faith in Jesus Christ, which God offers?

The terrible memory of the shipwreck of Titanic still sounds in the spirit of million people of all ages, like a solemn warning at the day before the First World War.
When Titanic had a confrontation with the floating iceberg, tons of broken ice flew in glare on the bridge. Merry and carefree passengers of the imminent danger, they had fun to launch out, between them, full handles of ice... And however the greatest number of them had only two hours to live in this fortress of the seas, pride of this time. In each one were the thoughts of the rich man who said, "And I will say of my soul, Thou hast much goods laid up for many years: thoughts brought back by Jesus-Christ in the Gospel of Luc 12:19 "rests, eat, drink, and be merry ".
“But GOD said unto him, thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee:”

Reader, will you have prudence not to push back this lesson that God gave by this tragedy maritime episode? The Bible, instructions of the life - did you read at least the Gospels?– , recall that God loves and informs personally each one of us to avoid us a disastrous trajectory. Are you ready to follow the warning of Jesus, the Son of God:
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 1:12 |

JESUS SAYS:
10 Don't keep the prophecies in this book a secret. These things will happen soon.
11. Evil people will keep on being evil, and everyone who is dirty-minded will still be dirty-minded. But good people will keep on doing right, and God's people will always be holy.
12. Then I was told:
I am coming soon! And when I come, I will reward everyone for what they have done. 13. I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.
14. God will bless all who have washed their robes.
